This is an example of a checklist for evaluating tech tools or apps.
1. Audience and relevance
o Who is the intended audience for this content?
o Is it appropriate and relevant to my learners?
o Does it require sharing of personal details? If so, is this safe and appropriate for my learners?
o Is the content easy to read and understand?
o Will it engage my learners?
2. Educational focus
o How will it help my learners?
o How does it fit with my syllabus/course materials/lesson plan?
o Will it support learners with different learning preferences?
o Is the content differentiated? If not, can I differentiate it?
o What interactive features are available and what is their educational purpose?
3. Ease of use
o Is it easy to use?
o Is there a useful help section?
o Does it load quickly?
o What’s my Plan B if something goes wrong?
o If my learners are using it independently, can I monitor use or progress?
4. Accuracy and authority
o Is the content up-to-date and accurate?
o Where does the content originate from?
o Who created it? Are they qualified to provide information on this topic?
o Is the material biased?
o Does it contain any advertising? Does this influence the content?
